Information
La Liga consists of 20 teams and adopts a double round-robin system (each team plays against the other teams twice, once at home and once away). The scoring system for a single match is as follows: the winner gets 3 points, the loser gets 0 points, and the draw gets 1 point for both teams. The league rankings are determined by the accumulated points at the end of the season. If two or more teams have the same points, the ranking order is as follows: During the league season: a) Goal difference b) Total goals scored c) Points earned in head-to-head matches (only applicable when two or more teams have the same points and have already played each other twice) d) Goal difference in head-to-head matches (only applicable when two or more teams have the same points and have already played each other twice) After the league season: a) Points earned in head-to-head matches b) Goal difference in head-to-head matches c) Goal difference d) Total goals scored e) Fair play points The top four teams qualify directly for the group stage of the next season's UEFA Champions League, the fifth-placed team qualifies directly for the UEFA Europa League, and the sixth-placed team participates in the UEFA Europa Conference League (the winner of the Spanish King's Cup also participates in the UEFA Europa League, if the King's Cup winner has already secured a Champions League or Europa League spot, then the Europa League spot will be passed down to the team with the highest ranking in the league who has not qualified for the Champions League or Europa League). Additionally, this season's La Liga has a promotion and relegation system of 3 up and 3 down, and the three teams at the bottom of the league table will be relegated to the second division next season.
